Major or Minor Repair Replacement? What’s the difference?

It can be hard to know what is wrong and what a repair looks like on the vehicle at times, let alone if the problem falls nicely into one of these categories.

Minor Replacement/Repairs

As a guide these are usually completed in a couple of hours and are typically components replaced every few years. Examples of common minor repairs include:

• Brake Pads & Brake Rotors
• Spark Plugs & Leads on most vehicles
• Suspension components most vehicles
• Radiators and selected cooling components
• Infotainment and Car Audio units

Major Replacement/Repairs

As a guide these are usually completed in times longer than 4 hours and are typically only components replaced once in your car’s lifetime with you. Examples common major repairs include:

• Turbo replacements
• Timing belt replacement
• Diesel fuel system repairs
• Differential & driveline repairs, replacements and overhauling
• Engine component repairs
• Oil leaks and seal replacements
